David Moyes Liverpool v Manchester United - Premier LeagueDavid Moyes has a great record against Man City during his career, but it meant nothing as Manchester City trounced Manchester United 4-1 at the Ethiad Stadium.

As reported on WhoScored.com, David Moyes had won more than half of hismatches against Man City in his managerial career. However, Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, and Yaya Toure found the net and painted Manchester blue for now.

Aguero, who scored a stunner to open the scoring in the Manchester Derby, also powered a close range shot past David De Gea after recieving a beauty of the ball from Alvaro Negredo. City dominated proccedings particularly in the 1st half as at the break they had outshot United 13-1. An exceptional free kick from Wayne Rooney that made him the all time leading scorer in Manchester derbies, but outside of Wazza the Red Devils were embarassing.  United deserved the beating they took as they were dominated, and questions are being raised about David Moyes’ squad selection.

Ashley Young and Antonion Valencia both were poor as the latter was partly to blame for the first finish as he failed to track back allowing a cross which Aguero got on to the end of. Young carelessly gave away posession frequently.

Shinji Kagawa and Nani remained on the bench. Nani      had just recently signed a 5 year contract extension, but  he, Kagawa, and Javier Hernandez have had trouble  getting into the team.

The NBC Sports commentary team of Arlo White and    Graeme Le Saux mentioned the similarities to Sir Alex    Ferguson’s United team that were beaten 5-1 at  Maine  Road almost 25 years ago. Sir Alex said it kept  him up all  night, and after today David Moyes may be doing the same. White and Le Saux also shed light on the fact that no team has won the title after gaining only 7 points from the first 5 matches since the Premier League’s inagural season. United were the team that won it that year.

United will have to regroup in time for a Capital One Cup tie against Liverpool on Wednesday. The match will mark Luis Suarez’s return to football after a ten match suspension. The United backline will be tested again as they failed to make the grade today. They will return home to Old Trafford for that affair, and lick their wounds after the drubbing they took today.
