The Italian GP did not go the way the pro-Ferrari crowd wanted it to as Sebastian Vettel earned his 6th victory of the Formula-One season. There are 7 races to go and the Red Bull driver now has amassed a 53 point lead in the standings. Brit Lewis Hamilton who placed ninth admitted his chances are now over telling BBC Sport, “”It’s awful when you are just empty of energy and have given everything for just two points — and that’s it for the championship now,” he told BBC Sport. Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso who is currently in 2nd has the only realistic chance to unseat Vettel from his lead.
Alonso is a two-time champion with Renault, but never has won a title with Ferrari
Singapore’s Grand Prix (pictured left) is up next on the Formula-One schedule as Alonso, Felipe Massa, and Mark Webber among other drivers will attempt to win a race that Vettel has won the past two years. Korea and Japan will follow Singapore in the schedule. However, it may take an epic collapse from the German Sebastian Vettel to lose his lead.
