One of the most notorious names in the world of drug trafficking is Griselda Blanco. Being that she’s a woman, it comes as a surprise to many that she lead such a fast and vulgar lifestyle.
Most people first heard about her in the heavily-rotated documentary films ‘Cocaine Cowboys’ and ‘Cocaine Cowboys II: Hustlin’ With The Godmother.’ Blanco was one of the first people from Colombia to ever traffic drugs into the United States and to the people in the cocaine business, she had it all figured out. She had the watchmen, the smugglers, the police plug, and all of the essentials needed to run a business as risky as hers. According to The Miami Herald, “She even had a Medellin lingerie shop custom design bras and girdles with special pockets to hold cocaine, a tool used by her drug mules flying to Miami.”
Everything that a person could possibly undergo in one lifetime is brushed under the rug of Blanco, from being raped to being addicted to drugs, from killing to completing jail time and from seeking others to hiding out. Though nonethical, Griselda Blanco if nothing else, was a leader and a master of her craft. She is referred to as The Cocaine Godmother for a reason and is very much respected by a number of people beyond belief.
Blanco reportedly died at age 69 yesterday by men on motorcycles, which was ironically one of the many assasination ideas that she herself implemented into the Miami community. They say what sets you ahead in life can also bite you in the ass, I guess she’s the prime example. However, it is needless to say that Blanco will be heavily respected and talked about for years and years to come. Rest in Peace to her and may blessings be deemed to those mourning her loss.
